Rio on Pools is a rocky pool area in central Belize, and this watercolor shows swimmers on the rocks cooling off on a hot day. This scene is based on the artists' own photography in Belize. I also discovered that this area is actually a training ground area for British troops. It is an area surrounded by pine trees so it reminded me of Minnesota, where I lived at the time I painted this. This is a small watercolor, approx. 14 x18". This painting is not framed.
